Hi all ive had this problem since i got my pc, basically my wireless speeds are around 0.5mb when i do a speedtest on windows, however on safe mode it will be 12mb. there's obviously some sort of conflict which i have struggled to identify.

here is what i tried

- fresh installs, although at the start the speeds are fine but once i install more drivers/programs it will do it

- installed different wireless drivers

- disabled certain processes/services

windows 7
pci express wireless adapter - TL-WR781ND

You might try uninstalling the wireless connection software that installed with the drivers, you should see it there in add/remove programs.

Let Windows handle that part of the connection instead, it usually works better that way.

Most likely it's something on your start up list or which ever A/V software is installed. You can use autoruns to narrow it down.

Autoruns for Windows

ok ive done a fresh reformat and tested speed after each driver installed

ive located the amd graphics driver as the culprit which cuts my speed from 12mbps to 1mbps

what am i ment to do as i need the graphics driver?

The driver installs properly and with no conflicts? No exclamation marks or anything?

So if you uninstall that driver your network speed returns to normal?

after further testing

i decided to open up my case and resit the pci express wireless card in its slot and strange enough the speeds are now fine with all drivers installed

weird?
