Hello All,

I recently upgrade my computer, new motherboard, cpu and harddrives and am now getting BSOD screen while the computer is idle. I've attached the dump files, i'm sure this is just a configuration issue which is beyond my expertise. Any help would be great, I've attached one of the ".dmp" files too.

Machine Configuration.

All of these are related to a critical process being terminated. Either an OS file is corrupt or a 3rd party driver is forcing it to happen.

Lets start with a system file check.

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

Well, was it blue screening before you installed starcraft, swtor?

These seem like disk problems to me. Perhaps something is off with the mirror. Did you set up the RAID using windows 7 installer?

As far as I know, it was not, but the system is only 3 days old, so maybe the problem is relate to the install or not. Also, hydro came by and replace my meter unannounced which shut my computer off unexpectedly, which may have effected the raid system.

As far as using windows 7 installer for the raid system, I'm not sure what you mean by that I'm using the intel drivers that came with the motherboard, since the system is fairly new windows 7 need the drivers from the disk. The raid controller is Intel C600 Series Chipset.

An unexpected shutdown often causes disk errors to occur. Have you checked the hard disk?
  • Run Disk Check with both boxes checked for all HDDs and with Automatically fix file system errors checked for all SSDs. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/96938-check-disk-chkdsk-read-event-viewer-log.html.
For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

Ran a complete Disk Check on C drive and it found no errors, was looking in my event logs for the output and found the event logs for the crashes. It seems that the crashes all seem to say the SleepInProgress was true, could this be an issue?

Adobe Flash updates may have caused my BSODs

For the last few days I've been getting frequent BSODs. The BSOD message suggested I disable or uninstall recent software and hardware. I noticed the last 2 software updates occurred about the same time I began getting BSODs. I uninstalled the 2 Adobe Flash updates, and I've BSOD free for about 12 hours now. I will update this post if I get another BSOD.

So I've done a couple of things.

- Updated my Raid and Chipset drivers from Intel directly
- Re-install Nvidia Display drivers
- Turned off Sleep mode from my power settings.

Since that the machine has not crashed and been running for 24 hours. While this may be a workaround for now, I think i will try turning Sleep mode back on and see if the install of the drivers fixed the issue. Personally I think having a computer that never sleeps is not a good thing for the energy consumption.

Will let you what happens.

Sound like good troubleshooting steps. Look forward to finding out how things go when you enable sleep again.
