Solved Toshiba Laptop with Windows 7 Home Edition - Updates won't Start

I'm confused.

Your laptop came with a hard drive installed.

The hard drive had an os on it.

Do you still have the original hard drive with the Win 7 Operating System? Yes/ No

Yes, I still have the original hard drive, but it failed. Image of OS damaged.
I ordered recovery set from Toshiba. Installed 15 times with same result. Windows update won't work. I've tried every conceivable fix from Microsoft, nothing works.

I even contacted Toshiba, and they told me I had a bad set of recovery disc's.

I formatted the new WD Sata HD again, and Installed OS yet again.

Always the same result. Error Code: 0xc8000222.
I got a message in windows update folder that says," Failed Software Synchronization".

Any suggestions or ideas that you can suggest would be greatly appreciated.

If the recovery dvds are bad, then don't use them.

When you say you "installed the OS yet again" :
what OS?
From DVD or USB?
source of the OS is?

Make sure your time zone, time, and date are exactly correct then synchronize them with internet time. I have forgotten to do this a million times. After doing so it should automatically set the bios time as well. You may have reset the bios time at some given point or your bios battery is dead. if so you should change it. good luck.

P.S. if internet time fails to sycronize the first time, click "update now" again a few times. but make sure your time zone and time are set right first. otherwise it may fail to sink with internet time.

Toshiba Laptop Windows 7 64 Bit OS

Apparently we are having communication issues.

This is what I’m dealing with:

Toshiba Laptop Computer, Windows 7 64 Bit Operating System.
I have received a second set of recovery discs from Toshiba.

Windows 7 64 Bit Operating System displays the same error code: 0xc8000222.

Microsoft Fix doesn’t work. I also tried installing updated Windows Update Agent and that didn’t work. I tried re-naming Windows Update Folder as suggested by another forum member, and that didn’t work.

I contacted Toshiba, who told me to contact Microsoft, who in turn referred me back to Toshiba.

Sounds like the old shuffle game to me. Microsoft passing on their issues to someone else.

Anyways, any suggestions you have. Please let me know.
I’m still trying to correct this issue.
Windows Update doesn’t work no matter what I do to correct it.
