Solved Windows Movie Maker trouble - computernovice

Hello everyone, I've been trying to make a fun video (my 1st one ever) for youtube and it took me AGES to get a small one... 1000's of errors, atleast 20 downloads and 20 backup copy's.

I'm almost done atm but there's just one error left. I really hope that this is the right forum for this but when I recorded it everything just went normal and the audio matched the video. When I first played it the video started to lagg (I was quite happy with this small lagg because it made the video and audio match perfectly). After that I played it again and some movements were just gone because the vid would be done already (for example it takes 30 sec and that movement would normally be at 31 sec because of the lagg). And I'm not sure what will be displayed if I upload it to youtube: the non laggy, the little laggy or the big lagg vid.

I'm afraid it will be the big lagg vid because when I check the screens displayed next to the vid when it's playing I can't see that movement that was supposed to be at 25 secs or so but is now (for example) at 31 sec.

Another odd fact: when I don't start it from the middle but I just leftclick at 0:00:25 than I DO get to see the movement :cry:... This is another one of those weird errors that no1 really knows how to help me with and I hope this error isn't as rare and vague as the others.

Please do ask questions, I use windows 7 ofcourse and my computer is incredibly fast and good and it didn't lagg until I started using WMM on it.

I'm certainly no expert on Windows Live Movie Maker, but are you aware that once you have completed your project (video, music and text etc) you then have to save the project as a movie?

When you save it as a movie you can then choose what format you want the movie in.

OMG I uploaded it to youtube and SOMEHOW it actually worked?!?!? The first time the extremely small odds are in my favour :D!!!! Sorry to bother you and thanks for the answer anyway! ill try to delete this post asap.

The odds are that the lag on your PC was due to watching the video (with sound) on the output window that is part of Movie Maker. Unless you have a good video card, you probably would experience lag and jumps, as the program tries to render the video on the screen.

Once you output the video as a file (WMV, AVI, MP4, etc), and play THAT video back, you will see no problems with the video.

When the video was uploaded to YouTube, it was uploaded as a completed FILE, so it was ready to be watched. No rendering from your PC needed at this point.

soooooooo.... to get rid of the lags when creating your video, I suggest looking into a more powerful Graphics Card with at least 512 MB of memory.... go as high as possible.

Thanks for trying to help but I have a i7 processor and dual core 2.0ghz video card (i think thats the graphics card?) it's all very new and high quality so I doubt that was the problem.
