Windows 7 Black Screen Of Death

I turned my computer on monday to find that, after the Windows loading screen, everything is black. The cursor is there and will move around, but right clicking does nothing, Ctrl-Alt-Del does nothing, safe mode does nothing, everything that i have tried failed and i still can see the login screen. Monday morning i turned it on to check something and then i turned it off before going to school when i returned back thats when it started. Does anyone have a solution please don't tell me that its hopeless =(
cause my laptop is my life.

Thanks, i got it fixed by a friend today
but i lost everyting i had on my laptop! =/

There are recovery programs out there:

Rescue Kit Free Edition - CNET Download.com

PhotoRec - CGSecurity

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download

The first one will restore the old partition, so you would lose your current setup. Probably not recommended.

The second will restore your files, but not within the structure they were originally in. You will have to sort through them and determine which files you want to keep, which is a very lengthy process.

I am not sure about Recuva as I've never used it myself, but the screenshots seem to show a directory layout and recovered files.

Well i managed to get a few pics that weren't important =/
i'm still missing like 80Gb of things games,movies,programs,folders ect....
i should of waited for a solution to keep all my files before giving
my pc to be fixed

PhotoRec - CGSecurity can recover more files, but it will take some time and you will have to sort through the files yourself.

There are still other recovery methods, but they cost money. You should try the free trials to see if they can even access the data. Also, make sure not to install any Windows updates or any software, don't load any data into your user files, etc. as the more changes you make to the system, the more you will overwrite your old data.
