Windows 7 64bit: 8 GB ram installed only 4 showing up

Okay so i have read on other parts of this forum that this is somewhat a common issue. So here is my specs which i am running. This is my first rig which i have had for almost a year now and i decided to get more ram (same model). I put them in and my computer didn't start so i consulted the great internet. Found my timing on ram was wrong so i set them to 7-8-7-24. It worked... only for 2 of the ram = 4gb. I am running Windows 7 64 Bit ultimate. Not to sure what to do. i am pretty sure they are seated properly.

I bet its the ram, try the modules on another computer?

This may sound stupid, but...

Did you try taking the RAM out and putting it back in again?
Is it identical to the RAM you already had installed?

Before we go any further, how much RAM is being detected by the BIOS during POST?

Here is how to fill out your System Specs.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

Add the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
“system manufacturer” block, for example,
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

After that, then:
WIN | type CMD.EXE | ENTER
enter or paste in:
wmic os get /all /format:list > %userprofile%\desktop\osall.txt

that puts a file on your desktop named osall.txt.

Upload (do not paste) that file please.
