BSOD New Computer , error 0x00000124, many others

I just got this computer the other day and on the 2nd day of use, got the BSOD. I have not added any hardware and only installed Firefox and Microsoft Office to the computer. Here is a rundown of what happens.

Starup, Windows screen appears, then BSOD.

I restart and run Startup Repair which fails. Error report as follows:

Then I run system restore which fails with error 0x8000ffff)

Upon next restart computer boots as normal. I work for about an hour (word processing) and shut the machine down. About 12 hours later after being turned off, the BSOD appears again and same process repeats.

No overclocking. I've checked the fans and there are no heating issues. All the drivers are up to date.

Quite honestly, as your computer is virtually brand new, you'd be as well to contact Lenovo support for a repair, replacement or refund while the machine is under warranty.

I would hate to see you do anything that invalidates the warranty and get stuck with a computer that Lenovo won't touch.

Agreed 100%. You have a 0x124 hardware bugcheck. If the system is still under warranty, I would recommend sending it in to have diagnostic tests done and any bad hardware replaced.
