Hey,

Like always, I'm changing my user folder to my other hard drive and I'm run into the same problem I have with Vista. I've changed the location on all of them to D:\username\foldername. (Default: C:\Users\username\foldername).
All of them, EXCEPT pictures, music and video have disappeared from C: after I moved them. Pictures, music and video stay there as empty folder and I can't delete them, even as administrator. This causes them to double up in my user folder.

How do I get rid of those folders because they annoy the hell out of me?

EDIT: I'm so stupid! C:\Users\username was read only, that's why it wouldn't delete. Trash/lock this thread.

Hi X7X,

no worries.

When you were asked to move the content you answered no, that's why it kept the original folder.

For the folders that went wrong (duplicates), one of the duplicates will still have the option to change location.

For that folder right click, goto location tab, choose default location.

Now the folders is back to square one.

I will give the example with music. The rest of the folders will be the same way.

Create a folder with the name "music" on the target drive.

Goto location tab of the original music folder, chose target folder, browse to the music folder on the target drive.

Then when asked to move the content, chose yes.

good luck.

Right, except for the fact that I didn't click no. I clicked yes.

Hello X7X,

Using the tutorial below to help guide you, double check to make sure that all of the user folders are set to the default location.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks, but I've checked my registry and its the locations are correct in there. I think it'll be fine now.

Thanks again.
