Found a really funny gif I want to use for my avatar, but trolling through the internet and searching on here haven't found any way to resize a gif that is about 1.6MB to fit as my avatar. Any help?

Thanks

The utility resized my gif, but it's still 228K...

I suppose people use smaller gifs with less animation to
meet the 50k limit...

Your best bet is a little tedious, but much more effective, and that is to use GIMP or other animated GIF software to extract the individual layers as files. Then using an editor, resize the layers, assemble them in an animated stack, and try a reduced GIF color palette (like 128). If that's not enough, you can then elect to discard various layers until you achieve the desired file size.
