Is my cpu fan working?

Hi, just wanting to ask if my CPU fan is working or not.

The reason I am asking this is because I can't see the fan spinning around through the holes in my case.

Thanks.

You could open the case and look.

Or install a program that will tell you the fan's RPM.

If it weren't, the PC would likely have shut itself off as a safety measure.

If your cpu fan was not running your cpu would get quite hot quite quickly

You can check your cpu temp in your bios or use a monitoring tool or gadget to keep any eye on it, overheating your chip is not a good idea and will cause your system to crash/shutdown unexpectedly

Well it has never done that.

I downloaded and installed SpeedFan and it says this.

Fan1 - 1901 RPM.

GPU Fan - 0 RPM.

Is my GPU not running fast because I am not doing anything gpu intensive?

May be a good idea to get temp monitoring prog as it will tell you if anything is overheating, fan speeds can sometimes be wrong/mis-interpreted by software as there is often multiple fan connectors on a mobo that are unused

Oh this does tell me my temps.

Most of them are all cool, just one of them is 50.

That sounds fine even a bit higher is ok, if fans had packed up those temps would soon climb to 70/80/90 then shutdown goodnight, and wouldnt come back on until cooled down especially gfx card

The highest my gpu has got was on BF3. At like 60 - 70. For a couple of hours. Normally it's 38 - 40.
