So my cousin wanted his laptop formatted so i inserted the Windows 7 DVD and formatted the 2 partitions that he had created and then deleted them.. so i got 1 full hard drive of 150 GB... then i installed Windows 7 on it...

Then when i tried to boot up i got the error "windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause" and i got some options... i selected continue with windows 7 and then got another message saying "Setup is starting services" and stucks there... i also cant boot via safe mode.... it will load some files but then it will restart and nothing will happen...

I am pretty sure that if i re-install Windows 7 it will show these messages again and again..

How could i fix this problem that im having?

Thanks.

Where did you get Win7 installer? How is this being activated?

Try wiping the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command.

In BIOS setup set to optimal defaults. Check SATA controller setting - set to AHCI to try install.

Report back results.
