Driver for Ralink Wireless LAN Card on HP pavilion M9350F

For some reason, Windows 7 does not find any adapters on my computer. I have heard that Netgear does not support Windows 7 yet, (Aren't vista drivers supposed to work on Windows 7 anyway? I have a WPN111 adapter) so I'm using a built in pci-e Ralink for my adapter that came with my comp. I downloaded the most recent driver for it off of HP's site, but when I install it on Windows 7, it comes out saying that my system does not meet the miniumum requirements

These specs are fine: (I can play cyrsis on high), so I know it must be an OS capability probelem.
Any ideas on how to fix this, or should I wait until it has a driver for Windows 7?

p.s. Im using x64 if that helps.

If W7 doesn't have your PCI-E wifi network adapter listed in the device manager at all, the problem probably has nothing to do with your wifi adapter but your motherboard drivers.

If you can see your wifi adapter in the device manager, but can't install the drivers from HP, try the ones on the ralink's website. I can't assure you that they will install on your card, but it's worth the try.

"PCI/mPCI/CB(RT2760/RT2790/ RT2860/RT2890)" Might be the driver you're looking for. it's the only one in the list that has PCI-E support listed in the release notes at least.

So it seems to be my mobo's fault then; any idea on where to get the drivers for a PEGATRON CORPORATION VIOLA?

I had the same problem, it just takes a little ingenuity to bypass HP's OS detection checks. Use winrar (or similar) to extract sp37515.exe. Then in the Device Manager select your unindentified network controller and choose Update Driver Software. Point it to the src\ directory of the newly extracted archive. Viola.

BTW - This procedure will not fix the remaining two devices (Coprocessor and SM Bus). For those, download the latest nForce unified driver package from nVidia (for nForce 720a) and install the SMBus and SMU Drivers only. You don't need the other crap (unless you want it). The RAID tool hosed by Win7 setup, so I advise against it.

When you run the nVidia installer, you will be given a bunch of checkboxes for each install package. Just choose those two.
