How do I get rid of a Libraries folder on my desktop

I don't know what I did or how, but there is now a Libraries folder on my desktop that I would like to get rid of. It can't be dragged to the Recycle Bin nor can it be deleted by any method I've found.

If I open Windows Explorer and navigate to

C:\Users\Default\Desktop
C:\Users\Public\Desktop
C:\Users\myaccountname\Desktop

There is no Libraries folder shown. So, how do I get rid of it? I've also tried moving it to another folder and that doesn't work either.

Try this,
Right click on the desk top.
Click personalize.
Change desktop icons.
See if its listen under there.

Libraries has documents, music, pictures, and videos shortcuts under is.

No, it's not listed there.

Once again, I don't know what I just did but it now gone. I was looking around in Folder Options but I don't think I changed anything. I also was looking around in Start / Properties but I don't think I changed anything there either, yet it's now gone.

I'll keep an eye on it and if it comes back I'll try to figure out what I'm doing to cause it.

If I can reproduce it I'll definitely post a screen shot. Right now it's gone though I have no idea why.

Just in case you run into this problem again, you simply Take Ownership of the offending folder/file, then have your way with it...

Thank you for that! I didn't know there was a takeown.exe, must be new for Vista/Win 7.

I like having the add and remove .reg files.

Now to see if I can reproduce the problem.

Question: Anyone written a GUI front end for takeown? Seems like it would be nice to have.

Simply download the reg file, import it and it will appear whenever you right click on a program/file/folder or even an entire drive...

Yes, I know, already did that. Thus my comment about having the add and remove .reg files so I can undo it if I ever want to.
