I have 4 hard drives
1 160 gigabyte at sata controller 0 position 0
1 64 gigabyte at 0 1
2 bluesy drives at 1 2 & 3
1 1tb drive at 1 4
1 2tb drive at 1 5

The 1 tb is a Debian system running ext4
The 2 tb is a data drive running ext4

The 64 gb is empty

And the 160 is empty and where I intend to install windows

However it seems that I can't it is not partitioned however when ever I say that it is to be partitioned through the windows install partitioner it again says that it's invalid and I can not continue

I disconnect all HD's and SSD's EXCEPT the one i am installing the OS on.
So, disconnect all HD's except the 160 where you are going to install Win 7.

If you have errors installing Win 7 with only the 160 HD installed, post back with specific error messages.
If you don't have errors, does Win 7 boot up after the install?

I'm no installation expert, but that is what i do.
You can also wait for advice from an installation expert before doing anything.

Gregrocker is the best installation expert i know of...

best of luck,
David

Trendnet USB KVM.

Tray system for removable SATA backup drives.

Not currently OCd, under-volted.
I use Hybrid sleep, rarely re-boot or shutdown.

Hauppauge HD-PVR, Avermedia PCIe TV Tuner, Hauppauge PCI TV Tuner.
That's what I'd do. You likely have other HD's interfering.

If installation fails again wipe the HD using Diskpart Clean Command from installer Command line accessing DISKPART At PC Startup.

After install plug back in the other OS HD and boot it using the one-time BIOS Boot Menu given on first screen.

Then add back each other HD to see if it interferes.

When you say disconnect do you mean the physical data connection or can i just disable all nonused drives in the bios...

You can disable in BIOS but make sure nothing other than target HD is enabled.

I tried what was suggested and i still can not install onto my spare hard drive i find this very annoying. The drive can be seen in my Debian Install however it does describe the drive as un partitioned nor NTFS. Has anyone ever had a problem like this where you strip all the hard drives except the target HDD and during the installation even after creating a NTFS. I traded out both of my spare hard drives with a semi virgin hard drive and same deal. I could really use a lead
