Hello and welcome to the forums, Tarique!

From looking at your desktop's motherboard specifications that are listed on this site by Intel:-

Intel® Desktop Board DG31PR — Technical product specification for DG31PR

Capture1.PNG Capture2.PNG

Your mother board has a PCI-E x 16 slot which should be able to support the GTS 450.

The only question that remains is whether your PSU (Power Supply Unit) can support the card; what is the wattage of your PSU?

Please check your PSU by opening up your PC's case and having a look at the side of the PSU for the manufacturer's sticker or something that would indicate its specifications.

Don't forget to fill up the rest of your specifications also by following this tutorial:-

My PSU is 400W. Will it run the graphic card?

Yes.

The GTS450 needs 6 pin PCI-E auxiliary power. Does your power supply have that?

If not, some cards are sold with an adapter that takes two 4 pin Molex connectors into one 6 pin PCI-E connector. (The Molex connectors are used by PATA/IDE peripherals like older hard drives or optical drives.)

"Can't run the latest graphic cards which use DDR3 or DDR5"? That's not correct. There is no basic connection between the memory type on the graphics card and the motherboard.

You might consider a graphics card based on the AMD HD 7750 chipset. I prefer nVidia's drivers, but this card looks like it outperforms anything at the same price level from nVidia. It's a couple of generations newer than the GTS 450.
