Win 7 / Win XP Dual boot hangs after cloning to SSD

[FONT=Tahoma, sans-serif]I'm looking for some help with an issue I've had since cloning my drive.[/FONT]

[FONT=Tahoma, sans-serif]I was originally running Win7 Pro x64 and Win XP Pro x86 on a WD 150GB VelociRaptor, but cloned these partitions to a OCZ Vertex 4 128Gb SSD. Both OS are available at boot up and Win 7 runs fine. However, if I select Win XP it hangs at the welcome screen (blue screen with no login icons). I have tried safe mode, but get a similar blue screen with just 'welcome' on it. If I put the original drive back in, it works fine.[/FONT]

[FONT=Tahoma, sans-serif]I used Acronis True Home to clone the drives as I have used it on many occasions with no issues. But just in case this was the issue I tried EaseUS partition manager, but still have the same problem. I really want to avoid reinstalling XP as I have legacy programs that I no longer have the installation discs for.[/FONT]

[FONT=Tahoma, sans-serif]I had recently run Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.8.0.1003, only because I wanted to ensure all drivers and systems were up to date prior to cloning. XP still worked fine on the HDD, but don't know whether this could be linked to the issue or not.[/FONT]

Often times when you change to different hardware XP requires a Repair Windows XP by Performing a Repair Install (Part 1 of 2). This may be such a case due to the SSD not having the correct SATA controller.

Can you confirm that it's using the same SATA controller as for the HD?

you need to set the boot partition (whichever one it is) to ACTIVE. You can do that in most partition managers --boot from the partition manager boot disk -- most of these partition managers have a stand alone boot version.
