hi all,
running windows 7 prem x64
it like this my dell inspiron hard drive goes to missing mbr cant boot.
i take out hard drive (but do not fix missing mbr) do a hdd regen (it has bad sectors) then i make a copy image. (still able to get in to old hd if plug into another computer.)
i install windows on new hd then take out plug into another computer and copy image over.
put copy image hd in and it just blinks at me.
ok back to square one format hd.
should i install windows again then copy image over or do it another way also doing it the way i did, what did i do wrong and how to fix it also if you can ??
thanks for your help and insight.

ok since im getting no answers this way. let me put it another way.
is there anyway to .. overlay the image of the data from what ever software that makes images. into new windows install. keeping installed programs ,drivers, doc's and ect there?
i dont know how many more times i can pull images off the old hd that has its sectors regened?
or putting it in the old hd fixing the mbr which the windows repairs doesnt see the os to fix. then copy it onto the new hd.
any suggestions or help in any direction would be welcomed
thank you

how is it i get no help?? i came to this forum in search of advise and help. are my questions to hard to answer?? did i ask the wrong questions? i did use the search , but none of the threads answer questions. i just used another computer to gain access to a failing hard drive with a missing MBR. make a image usen ontrack on the other computer of the failing HD, install windows on new HD in laptop , take out, plug into other computer. copy image , plug back into laptop i get a blinking cursor the. but is i didn't fix the MBR before the copy. i was hoping for the same error missing MBR being able to fix it on the new HD without drive failure trying to fix it with the old drive in the laptop. this can't be any clearer. BUT this a mute point because you could not get back to me

As far as I am aware No.

Regarding the lack of responses, I'm a bit confused what you are asking. If you make it a bit clearer I'm sure you'll get a number of responses.
