having problems with a DVD authoring program DVD Architect Studio v5.0 - it's been running OK under Win7 32-bit and have not changed anything recently.

The program ask to close (but there is no other option, other than send fault report which gets nowhere,,,). The first instance was about 6 weeks ago and it does more-or-less the same thing 9 out of 10 times... ( as each Prepeartion is well over 1hour it is very time-consuming Hoping it will be OK )
Oddly the Win7 PC continues to work OK, so it seems to be restricted to this particular prog.

Win7(32), 4Gb RAM, C has 32G HDD unused, Files are stored on SATA drive ~500G spare.

I get a Fault Msg... Fault Report: 6April2010 ( looks like Original progam date?)

C:\windows\system32\KERNALBASE.dll

First Report was Mid-May2012

The box shows the Msg. I got today, you can see it's similar to the First one.

Firstly can someone explain what this msg means? (it is complete and accurate description, for example)
Secondly what might have caused it - today I was just reading about the Playlist feature, there was almost zero Processor activity.
Lastly, what can be done to prevent it in future?

I thought this was caused by an MS Win7 "Update" which come irregularly (when I shut down). There had been quite a while then a long-one arrived.....it was after this the program would shut-down, but it could be co-incidence, etc. I've had a few more "MS updates" always hoping one might fix it......
Previously the Prog would shut about 2/3rds the way through (just before the DVD-files were fully prepared and prior to Burning.....but today it wasn't really doing much at all.

This prog has been OK for nearly 1yr . . . . DVD Architect Studio v5.0 will give very similar Fault-Code( See postings). nearly 1 month later, without any video-processing, if I fiddle with the "Playlist" - this is part of the User-design and not anything "rogue" - but it suggests (to me?) that it's not any video-content (IE screen play action, or audio files) that are to blame.
Please let us know more about your system.

Here is how:

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
(left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

In the System Manufacturer Block, enter:
Manufacturer and Model and
ADD the word laptop, desktop, netbook or tablet.
For example:
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

You will find that in Speccy, you can select info from the display
using your mouse/touchpad and then paste that info into your specs.

SIW is a marvelous program, but the free version does not offer
this capability.

==================================================

Your system specs travel with you, that is, we can always click on the "My System Specs" at the bottom of that column with your name, etc and be aware of your hardware and software.

thanks for helping us to help you,
karl

good start.

Now read the procedure I gave and put that into your system specs.
