Can't Create a New User Account Because I'm Using Symbols When I'm Not

The problem I'm having with creating an account is stupid and needs to be fixed. When I am making a new User Account, It asks for the name. So I type in a name for my account and click next or whatever. But it wont let me move on because it says I'm supposily using characters like ( *,^,%,$,#,@,!,&,=,+,-,_) When I'm not. I just want my username to simply be 'Eric Alexsander' -_-

I highly recommend doing a complete virus scan. It's not normal behavior for Windows to mistake letters for special characters.

I've created accounts with hyphens in the user name.

It's interesting in post #1 it shows the hyphen as an invalid character.

I use Hybrid sleep, rarely re-boot or shutdown.

From the command line type:
net users
and see if, by any chance, there isn't already a user with the same name.
If there is, just type:
net users USERNAME /delete
and then try creating the user again.

When I have issues with user names and/or passwords I type them in Notepad [in Accessories] then when they look right I Select then Copy, go back to Paste into the dialog boxes. It assures me I have typed it correctly, especially with passwords that don't show the actual characters that are masked by the * and large dots. It helps diagnosing the possibility the keyboard isn't working properly.
