Hi everyone,
Has anyone managed to get the Hauppauge HVR-950Q USB tuner working with Windows 7 MCE yet? I've installed it on my Win7 box using the Vista driver, but Media Center isn't able to find a signal. I get my TV through a digital cable box and use coax cable between the box and the tuner. When I go to manual setup for the signal, it would usually be on channel 3 but there's nothing coming in. Infact, instead of seeing a preview of the TV signal, all I see is a message in the preview window 'file not found'
I couldn't test it on Windows 7 with Win-TV as that crashes as soon as you try and launch it. As a test though, I did install Beyond TV on the Win 7 box and that is able to pick up the signal properly, so it looks like the Vista driver does work with Windows 7, just not with MCE.
As a further test, I plugged the HVR-950Q into my older XP MCE and that is able to pick up the signal properly.
At this stage, I'm guessing that I have to wait for a later Win 7 driver from Hauppauge, or maybe a later build of Win7, but if anyone has any suggestions, then I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Richard.

My HVR-950 USB is working fine. The 950 is connected to the raw cable feed via a splitter since my Comcast DVR does not have an RF coax bypass F connector.

I have an 850 hybrid USB and no joy with any TV setup, signal, MCE remote. Direct cable connect.
All Works with Vista, I don't think Hauppauge had their A Team on the 850 driver install app, very poorly written, for a supposedly good company.

hauppauge posted a new Win TV 7 recently. I tried it, but it is still locking up on me.Will not run the win tv application and check for channels. I can watch TV in WMC live TV,but can not record or use remote. I'm using OS Windows7 64 bit version. So the guy who said his is working (I also let windows install drivers) is the WinTV program working for you and if so how did you do it? This has been very frustrating and support has'nt been helpful.

I misspoke above. My HVR-950 USB is connected via OTA antenna for ATSC. It's my Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600 NTSC/ATSC Combo card that is connected to both cable and OTA. Those two plus a FusionHDTV3 QAM card are all using default drivers within Windows 7 build 7057.

Everything works! Had problmes with my Hauppauge HVR-950Q and Windows 7 x64 Media Center. Chatted with MS tech support and they resolved the problem. The cause was invalid configuration data, corrupted files. They uninstalled media center. Removed all previous media center configuration data. Cleared the user guide data and cleared user configuration data for media center. Then, reinstalled media center and setup live tv. Go to Programs and Features and the Windows Features controls to turn off the media features (this should uninstall WMC). To clear data go to subfolder eHome and clear contents. Then go to the user data and eHome and clear contents. Now restart computer, then go back to Windows Features and check the media feature to install WMC. Now you have to plug in TV tuner and configure WMC again. It should work, it did for me.
