File/Folder View problem / ?

I got a new computer with intel i7 chip and windows 7.
I had all of my music/photos/files backed up on a 2TB external harddrive.
I copied all of the files from the backup to the new computer harddrive.

Here's where it gets strange.

I have over 6000 songs that were kept in one folder each with the band name and track title.
On the new computer under my music every song (mp3 file) is in a folder for each specific album and another for each specific band which creates a lot of folders to dig through.
How can I get all of the songs to display as before (all of the songs in one folder and not folders within folders?

Look under View / Group by. Uncheck all and it should be like you want to see it.

I gave that a try and it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Hello Steve,

You might include the main folder that all the music is in into say the Music library. Then you could set the Music library to this below to see if that may work for you.

Arrange by -> Song (or what you like)
Sort by -> Name
Group by -> (none) (if displayed). If not, then leave all unchecked in Group by.

Also, what is View set to? I have mine set to Details and I see things pretty much as you said you want.
