Solved Unwanted keyboard in language bar

Hello.
I am a French guy on a French Computer with a French keyboard in France.
I also sometime switch to Japanese keyboard layout to write in English or in Japanese, so my TWO installed keyboards are French (default) and Japanese (Microsoft IME) as you can see on this picture:

Language and text services.jpg

(image showing "japanese and french keyboards being the only ones installed")

However, my problem is that an English keyboard has been added to the language bar somehow, preventing me to use my Alt+Shift keyboard shortcut to switch efficiently between keyboard layouts:

(image showing "japanese, french and english keyboards being available in the language bar")

Does anyone know how to delete this additional unwanted keyboard please?

So far, I have tested without success:
- Removing all keyboards besides default keyboard (which cannot be removed)
- Searching for a solution on the web

Thank you very much in advance,
Camusensei

PS: No, I can't do a system restore from a previously working point.

Hi and thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately, I have no language pack installed:
Region and Language.jpg

(image showing "no language pack installaed")

I checked a little through the register and found these :
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\CMF\SqmData\BootLanguages]
"en-US"=dword:00000002
"fr-FR"=dword:00000029
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\CMF\SqmData\BootLanguages]
"en-US"=dword:00000002
"fr-FR"=dword:00000029
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CMF\SqmData\BootLanguages]
"en-US"=dword:00000002
"fr-FR"=dword:00000029

Do you think one of these is responsible ?

Any other ideas are welcome

Regards,
Camusensei

Check to see if you have a data value of 00000409 for a key at both registry locations below. This is the one for EN-US keyboard. If so, delete the key(s) that have this exact value for it, and it should remove it. You may need to log off/on afterwards first though. :)

To be safe, I would recommend to export the Keyboard Layout key first as a backup to be able merged if needed.

Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload]
"1"="00000409"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Substitutes]
"00000409"="00000409"

Unfortunately not:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload]
"1"="0000040c"
"2"="00000411"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Substitutes]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Toggle]
Thank you for your idea though

Well, in that case, I'd say to export your SqmData key from below as a backup, delete the en-US key, log off/on to see if that does it.

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CMF\SqmData\BootLanguages]
"en-US"=dword:00000002
"fr-FR"=dword:00000029
