Whole Computer Freezes when Playing League of Legends

First, I want to say that I did have League of Legends freezing issues before, almost a year ago. I never figured out what was causing the problem. I'm not even 100% sure how I fixed the issue but I remember I literally took this random Network Card (I think it's a network card at least) from one of my old computers and simply plugged it into the motherboard of my now current computer. I didn't even plug any cables into the card itself and for some reason it just stopped the freezing issues. Also a little while after this I had to do a system restore and completely wipe my computer, although it was issues with starting up the computer and it was extremely slow on opening up any program or loading pages in a browser.

Now, I have some similar problems but so far there doesn't seem to be any issue outside playing league of legends except for after the freezing. Right now I can play a game of league of legends for about 10-20 minutes and then the game simply freezes and I cannot alt-tab or ctrl-alt-delete out of it or anything else. I've played 3 games over today and yesterday and the first 2 freezes I did an emergency shut-down by holding the power button on my tower for a few seconds. The last game I actually waited it out for about 10 minutes of nothing happening and then an error screen popped up. I tried to get a picture of it using my phone but after about 5 seconds my computer shut down and restarted. What I do remember about the error screen was it said something about "memory code could not read <random series of numbers> and error code <random series of numbesr>".

Now after restarting my computer immediately after the freezing, my computer would simply not load. It would stay at load-up screen of windows saying "Windows is Starting" with the Windows Logo animated to move a little bit like a flag in the wind would on a black background. It's the screen that you would see right before it takes you to the computer log-in (if you have your computer user password protected or if there are multiple users on your computer). When it comes to this screen it is not frozen because I can still see the Windows Logo flag animation going on but it never reaches the next screen.

At this point I'm forced to emergency shut-down (using the method earlier) and I have to wait at least 10-15 minutes before I can turn my computer back on and it is functioning normally.

I have tried before to uninstall and reinstall League of Legends but it does not fix the issues.

So far I have yet to experience any freezing using my computer without League of Legends but all I really do is surf the internet and watch movies. In other words, I don't really do anything that is as performance intensive as League of Legends would require.

It sounds like it could be a variety of different things but, w/o knowing your system specs, it would speculation in our part.

Heat could be a problem, corrupt drivers may lend a hand, perhaps your system can"t handle the game, you may need to update your GPU, or your fans are busted... you get my drift?

Are you playing LoL with shadows on? A couple weeks ago I put em on for the first time and lol crashed 10min into the game, (might not be relevant but oh we'll)

I didn't turn shadows on but I think I might've fixed it. I'll mention it now but I started experiencing random freezing while not playing League of Legends. I found this strange and used the Task Manager to find what was going on my computer at the time and under 'processes' I found "Pando Media Booster" a program I remember that installed itself as a part of League of Legends. I did some research and found out it was a torrent program designed to League of Legends, using my computer as a seed, to reduce costs for the company. I also learned that it was safe to uninstall the program and I did which resulted in me being able to have a fully functioning computer again!
