Hi all, when I click the icon to " Safely remove hardware and media " in order to take out my Transcend memory stick, the Open Devices and Printers box pops up and > Eject 11n adapter and Eject Disk 2.0 < is highlighted in the box, but usually the name of the memory stick is greyed out, and when I take out the stick the little light in the stick is still pulsing, so I need to know how to check that the port is actually turned off.
Regards Robert

when you click safely remove and the list pops up with, you have to select the device that is plugged in to remove. To check what device it is, go to computer tab and open it up, in there it will show you and the assigned letter it has. Then go back to the safely remove tab and click on the assigned letter to remove the device. Wait till it tells you, with a popup that the device is safe to remove now. Then the light should go off of the device and you can physically remove it.

Hi Bassfisher
Many thanks for your reply :)

I am aware of the drive number which is allocated, it is usually UDISK (J or The memory stick name (Transcend) if I am useing that one, but when I click on the eject icon, the box pops up and the drive letter I am using is greyed out, the drives which are usually highlighted are "Eject 11n Adapter (I don't know what this is) and Eject DISK 2.0” so when I click on this, the message says “Safe to remove hardware” but the stick is still lit up or flashing.

Sometimes after clicking on Eject DISK 2.0 I get the message “This drive is in use” so I think I need the way to check if the port is still live or has been turned off.
Regards Robert.

Can you take some screen shots of your "computer tab" showing all your drives? Then take a screen shot of your computer tab with the sd card or thumb drive plugged in. Then take some screen shots of the safely remove window with and with out the card/thumb drive plugged in.
