BSOD after fresh Windows 7 Installation - CDD.DLL

Hi,

Had various issues with my computer yesterday after removing AVG, so many that my friend (who upgraded my computer - originally packard bell 2390) advised I reinstall windows fresh, which I have done.

After trying to load windows updates onto the fresh install I had a BSOD CDD.DLL, I have attached the dump files etc from the seven forums application.

Welcome aboard.

At first, you uninstall the display driver using Driver Fusion, and install an earlier on which was stable there. The October version is a bit problematic in some cases, as you are facing.

  1. Reseat the sata and power.
  2. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
  3. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
    Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.

Thanks for your reply. Please could you elaborate on the uninstallation then install? I haven't uninstalled any display drivers, all I've done on the fresh install was install the NVIDIA GFX Cards and the motherboard CD.

I've had two further BSOD but they are not CDD.DLL I have attached the zip again.

I don't have a DVD RW so couldn't do the second request unfortunately.

Problems seem to be intermittent.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

For nvidia,

  • Download and install Driver Fusion.
  • Reboot the computer in Advanced Boot Options, safe mode. Search Driver Fusion in your start menu, and remove all components of your nVidia display driver.
  • Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, follow option two to search for the appropriate driver for your system automatically, and install it.
