Solved Relationship between time on clock and personalization of views?

I have a two-week-old Windows 7 Toshiba laptop on which the clock time has lost exactly three hours on four or five occasions since I started using it. I've been experimenting with different personalization schemes off and on? Would the time on the clock change when I modify a theme or create a customized one?

One time I went into BIOS to change the time in an attempt to pin it down, but it has just lost three hours again. Might this be a serious problem?

For anyone out there who might be experiencing a similar problem, no matter what make of computer you have, I called Toshiba, and they're having me return the laptop for repair. Apparently a computer time clock that changes the time of its own volition is at least a potentially serious issue.

It really shouldn't be happening in a brand new system, if it were a couple of years old I would just think it a bad bios battery. I've not seen the behavior from brand new systems though.

The funny thing is that it hasn't happened once since I called Toshiba about it three or four days ago. Over the previous two and a half or three weeks, it happened four or five times! :-(
