Every so often, usually when I'm on Skype, my computer freezes, shows green and purple dots all over my screen for about a second on top of everything, then BSODs. There's no file name at the bottom, but I do see something like 0xA0000001 0x5000000000000000

Just had one this afternoon, not while using Skype or doing anything with video (which I had suspected was causing this). I was browsing the web then it crashed. This afternoon's BSOD dump is attached.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give!

Welcome to SevenForums

All the BSOD-s seem to be related to the older ATI drivers for your video card.

Update to the latest and see if the problem persists:-

Click on the Start :orb: ► Control Panel ► Programs ► Uninstall a program ► Uninstall everything related to; ATI and reboot the system.

Delete remnants of its drivers/older drivers using Driver Fusion/Sweeper, reboot the system again.

Get the latest drivers from: Download AMD Catalyst Drivers 12.10 Vista 64 - FileHippo.com

For monitoring the heat/celsius of the system, use Speccy or HWinfo:
