How do I delete DVD Slide Shows

How do I remove a dvd slide show without deleting the pictures. I know you can remove picture from the dvd but for some strange reason this does not work for me. If I happen to go back to the dvd for one reason or another the pictures reappear. I know I am doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what it is. Any suggestions? Thank you.
