Hi All

I know this type of question has been asked before but I have read through the previous suggested fixes and so far they have not helped.

The 2 updates are:
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2656351)

and

Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2600217)

Both are indicated as successfully installed in WIndows update history, but immediately after the install has completed, Windows Updates indicates these 2 updates must be installed!

So if anyone has had the same issues with these updates or has any new suggestions, I'd be very grateful.

One final bit of info that may, or may not be useful. The only new piece of software I have installed recently is the Dragon Naturally Speaking product from Nuance. It seems to have a Common Software Manager service that now runs in background but I have no indication that this is linked to the WIndows Update problem.

Many thanks in advance!
Cliff

Hi NoelDP

Many thanks for the reply and the links. I uninstalled the 2 updates and then installed the downloaded ones from the links you sent to me. The installs both were successful. I then rebooted, but it still is indicating that I need to install the same 2 updates again in Windows Update

I will try again with a reboot between the uninstall and installing the downloaded versions and see if that makes a difference.

It's really odd!

But many thanks again for the help. Much appreciated.

Cheers
Cliff
