Hi all,

I am trying to control my system fans either using Asus Fan Xpert or Speedfan. Neither seem to work. I have tried changing settings in my BIOS like Q-Fan and Cool 'n Quiet but nothing seems to work.

I am only able to change my CPU fan (Which is a water pump) not the other fans in the case.

Anyone got any ideas or any other bits of software to try and use or things to do please tell me :)!

Thanks, If you need more info just ask :)!

PS SpeedFan:
Speedfan is able to see the fans & RPM however changing the speeds of the fans doesn't do anything apart from Pwm2 on the right side just changes the CPU fan and that's it :(

If the IV is anything like the V formula then in the bios look for monitor and in that section you may see fan control. make sure you know which header the fans you want to control are on, ie: opt fan/ cha fan/ cpu fan. set Q fan for the header needed to enabled and then select the profile you want.
i just use the standard profile and sometimes turbo. it all depends on your needs and cooling.

found this on another form too which shows you how to use the asus software if you prefer, myself i prefer to use the bios profiles.
hope this helps Crosshair IV Forumla and fan control - Overclockers UK Forums

Edit: user manual for your board shows how to control your fan speeds. chapter 3 bios setup http://www.manualowl.com/m/Asus/CROSSHAIR-IV-FORMULA/Manual/286212?page=109

Hi Ganjiry,

I have done this. Yes it does work however to control the fans you have to shutdown and go into BIOS etc... Is there anyway to do it in Windows on the fly...

hi dell,
I'm pretty sure the only way to do it on the fly would be using the asus software but somebody else may know another way. shutting down and going into the bios isn't a problem and only takes a couple of min. you set the profile you want and job done. it only needs doing once.
is there some reason that you can't go into the bios?

Well I have tried using Fan Xpert which is made by Asus. But that doesn't seem to work either :(.

Those two options are all i can think of sorry. I don't know of any other software that will do it. Can you not just set and forget in the bios? Then you don't have to worry about doing it on the fly unless your overclocking or something and need to bump up the fans. In which case you will be in the bios anyway and can change it again.

the only other suggestions i can give would be to use MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision to alter the fan speeds on your graphic card. You could also get a fan controller for your case and run your case fans from that - Overclockers UK
By doing this you will have full control over all your fans.

Yes MSI after burner works fine. It's just I want to control the air flow in the case. Problem is sort of solved now I have bought a actual fan controller to put in a drive bay that all the fans can connect up to.

Thanks for your help and suggestions anyway!
