Hello, i got a 3tb hard drive today and i went and allocated 2000gb but there is about 740gb left and when i right click it the option "new simple volume" is not highlighted

i would not mind if this problem was with a 10gb hard drive but its 740gb on the line and I kind of want it so.
:sarc:
i need help.
here is a screenshot of the problem.

Hi,

Is the disk formatted as GPT or MBR - I suspect the former. Please attach the screen capture image of your Disk Management screen as you missed that in your first post.

Regards,
Golden

Make sure the C: drive ( your original ) is going to sata port 1 on the motherboard and your new drive is going to sata port 2.

First things first, format that entire drive. Delete the partitions 1st so the whole thing is unallocated space then format it, you will then have 1 large fully usable drive.

You can then make the PW disc, go back and break it into 4 primary partitions.
