For new RAM get a matched set of 2x4GB. The system will use what it need for graphics. Also you'll have to be aware of the length of your card. I am guessing you have a small case since you have a micro ATX board?
I will reiterate what stormy13 said about the PSU, you'll need a larger one I suspect and of good quality, Corsair, Seasonic, or Antec make good ones.
This is a PSU example. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010

A nice basic video card is the Radeon 7750, but it's not for gamers... You can pick it up for about $100 and it's got 1GB of DDR5. What do you want to use the card for?

That could be a 350W Fortron power supply. That would limit your graphics card choices to relatively low-powered cards, which wouldn't use auxiliary PCI-E power connectors. (A card that uses 75W or less can get all of its power through the PCI-E slot.) 350W might be enough for a card based on the nVidia GeForce GT640 chip (according to www.eVGA.com).www.sapphiretech.com requires 400W for a Radeon HD 7750.

Well the rest of your computer is very low-end.
Even with a new graphics card, your processor and motherboard are still bad, so there wouldn't be much performance difference.
I also wouldn't run a mid range card like that on that power supply either.
You can't just upgrade 1 component and expect a big difference, hardware relies on other parts being at the same level as well.
The HD7750 doesn't require any additional power, as the PIC express slot provides 75watts. At around $100, it will leave you enough $ to buy an SSD for your rig!

No, a better CPU would give a much better performance boost than a SSD would. SSD's only help with I/O speeds (loading and booting), there won't be any FPS difference. However because of the motherboard, he'd need to get a new on of those as well. I suggest getting the motherboard and cpu from the build I suggested. Only ~£150.
