How do I get rid of Bing desktop for good?

Hi all... I really do not know what to think anymore about Microsoft.
I had to get help from a tech to get rid of Bing desktop as It was not listed under programs, it did not have an uninstaller and it kept reappearing numerous time after using Revo uninstaller. Today, I was looking at my reliability score, and, to my surprise, The darn think reinstalled itself, no warning that that happened, no uninstaller, not a notice from Microsoft, no nothing. A few days ago I tried to install this again, thinking they might have already fixed the vulnerabilities and bugs in it, but the website told me I was not able to download and install it...

WTF!!! Do I have a virus again???:mad:

Please help me clean my system up! I really do not want to do a system restore, for I do not know how long the darn thing has been on my system. I also need to know how to stop the insane update to it from installing itself in my system.

If it's not listed in uninstall a program or programs and features, look to the top left and click on View installed updates,

Wait a bit until the list is finished loading, you should notice the address bar turning green.


Find the bing desktop listing, and uninstall it from there.

makes things harder? Harder how, harder to find it? In my experience it has always been offered as a separate Update.

No, it does not hide among other updates, it`s in plain site.

It won`t be hidden until you right click on it and hide it.

Removing Bing Desktop

Hi Guys,

I had the same problem, Basically after you uninstall Bing desktop, it will not appear in either Uninstall programs list or the updates list. What you need to do is delete the startup registery key, I use a program called CCleaner which is a free utility and can be found by googling it.
