Following the clean oem reinstall tutorial to a tee, I finally got the Recovery Management to start copying files to system and completing to 100%, which took only 12+ hrs. The next step of restoring and updating system started and has been running 14+ hrs and is only at 27%... Slow as Hades is an understatement. Something isn't right. Should I let it keep going till it fails or finishes? Or start it over? Any help with this decision greatly appreciated.

Yes, i have tried with iso image per tutorial more than once and it failed. I also have tried with a set of 5 discs from gateway, which is the bloated factory recovery evidently, only this one hasn't failed yet. It's just super slow. Been running 20+ hrs and is only 41% complete. I guess i'll let it go until it fails or finishes. I'll let you guys know either way. Thanks for the insight........

Let's figure out why it's failing. We dont' give up here that easy and have a 100% install rate where there is cooperation.

Start at the top of the tutorial with a fresh image and burn or write it with tool in Step 2. Now try booting it. What happens?

A clean Windows 7 install using a freshly burned dvd takes 15 minutes from start to desktop.

Did you download the Windows 7 iso from the site in the tut and then burn it to dvd using Imgburn at no faster then 4 times speed ? And as Greg asked where was it failing ? What was the message it displayed ?
