Hi,
I recently installed AVG. After running a full scan I received this message.
Potentially harmful program Crack.CO
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\vbc.exe (6484)
Severity is Medium
State is infected
Could anyone tell me if this really is a problem? I am not exactly a comp. whiz. I have tried to research this but I can't seem to find a solid answer. For the most part my computer runs no problem. Only recently I have found one or two things that seem funny. 1. my Windows update does not want to work. 2. My link to "Windows help" doesn't work. I have to go to the website, if that makes sense. Anyways, besides that I don't see any other problems. What does seem strange is when I searched for, and found, the particular file I noticed the following which seems weird.
The description for the file reads:
vbc.exe Date modified: 11/5/2010 9:58 AM Date created: 6/14/2011 5:55PM

It has been modified almost a full year before it was created????? :confused:That's not right is it?
Any info as to if this is a virus and what I should do would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
GuyinChina:D

Why would anyone install AVG ten years after it bloated up and never slimmed back down? Who recommends it? No one here at the top tech forums has ever recommended it, and we advise users to uninstall it almost every day.

Uninstall AVG now and install Microsoft Security Essentials with the Win7 firewall kept fully Updated with Windows Updates set to Automatic, recommended treated the same as IMportant.

Run a full scan with Malwarebytes .

Please run the MGADiag.exe at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.
