As far as I can tell, I have the right extensions installed to allow the following to happen: When clicking a link, the new link is to open in a new tab. This apparently is working fine except when I'm in a Google search screen (ie, searching for something using Google). When clicking a link within Google, the link opens within the Google tab, whereas it should open in its own tab (like Firefox)???

The same thing also happens when clicking a bookmark. That is, in order for a bookmark to open in its own tab (not in the existing tab), I have to right click and choose "open in new tab." Would like bookmark opening to open in new tab, just like Firefox.

I'm not sure about Chrome, but I have Firefox and in order to open anything in a new tab, I just middle-click it. Or to do that from the Location Bar or the Search Box, I just press Alt+Enter.

The only way I've found is to either right-click and choose 'Open in New Tab' or to middle-click as TwoCables stated above.

Yes, just middle click it (some mouses have wheel button uses to scroll a page). No need to add any browser extensions or add-ons.

If my middle click does nothing! I am using a Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman that has its scroll wheel set to Enter, but even when set to nothing, depressing it does nothing. And, with some trial and error, I have found that although left clicking a Google Search link open the link within the same tab, RIGHT clicking will open in a NEW tab. Guess I will just have to remember to right click all Google links, eh? Too bad as this can be confusing...especially when I use both Firefox and Chrome.
