bSod 0x000ffff system reapir

I had problems with explorer.exe and I couldn't start up windows so I did a system restore and I got this bsod

That's what I did and that's when I got the error message. Sorry it wasn't a bsod it was just an error message.

Yes it is an error message that system restore unexpectedly failed.

If the system restore fails , I think it is the best to do a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html, as the level of files corruption is hard to determine in this case.

For backing up your data, follow http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/93347-copy-paste-windows-recovery-console.html, and go for a clean reinstall.

well i tried it again for about 2 hours and i cam back and it was on the start up menu... a lil weird but i think its okay now?
but i have had another problem twice now and i cant seem to get around it.
when ever windows updates my explore.exe gets messed up. i have no background and no task bar...?

In addition run SFC /SCANNOW Command to determine the level of system corruption.

If you're still running a corrupt factory preinstalled Win7 which smothers the OS with bloatware, or have less than a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 then I'd strongly consider investing now in getting a perfect install. Everything needed is in the blue link.

I've uploaded afile - skkaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive

Please downloadand save it.

Right-click onthe downloaded file, and select Extract all…

Extract to thedefault location - which will create a new folder skkaa in the same place.

Open this folder- there should be one folder inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to thefolder

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Nowrun the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Postthe new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

All right thanks I will do that when I get back thank you for your help. Also could I delete the file it has finished because I'm running low on space and om cleaning up my hdd

Once we've checked that the fix has worked then you can delete the created folders.
If your running that short of space that a couple of MB makes any difference, then you have many more problems to come!
How much free space do you have on the C: drive? how big is it?
