Geforce 6200 Turbocache - No aero

Hi all, my first post on this forum :)

I have just installed Windows 7 on my PC who have a Geforce Turbocache 6200 (128 meg / PCI-E)

And aero don't seems to work. When i launch an evaluation test, i says "Could not measure video playback".

I have the latests drivers from Nvidia, (191.07).

Also, in dxdiag, neither Directdraw or AGP are enabled.

Any help are welcome :)

Right click desktop, choose personalize. Near the bottom should be a link to troubleshoot Aero. If not, choose an Aero theme if you can.

AGP texture acceleration should be disabled for you since you are running a PCI-e card.

Otherwise, does device manager show any errors for the card or does it say it is running well?

And, when i run the aero troubleshoot, it says "desktop window manager session manager is desactivated"

Start menu search box. Type services.msc, hit enter.

Make sure Desktop Window Manager Session is set as automatically and is also running.

The driver you have is correct. Try a reboot then run Aero troubleshooter if still not working.

Ok, i updated my driver to a WDDM one, now i have:

And now, when i run the troubleshoot again, it say that my card is good enough to run aero but it need a WDDM driver ???

Do you have any idea ? that dont make any sense...

When everything is complete, i have this..

Should i restore the previous driver ? (non-wddm) ?

NVIDIA DRIVERS 191.07 WHQL

Install this driver. It is the correct one. I have a 6200 in my other machine and this driver is what I use. If it doesn't work for you, something else is wrong.

Reboot and see how it goes. Use Aero troubleshooter once again if needed.

Okay, i installed the driver, rebooted my computer,

And i have the same message saying the service is not running.... :(

Don't know why it would say that, if it is.

Do you have dwm.exe in the task manager?

Perhaps your bios needs adjustment or update.

Can't hurt to run this command from elevated command prompt to check all your files are good:

sfc /scannow

Yes dwm.exe is running in the task manager. I will look if Asus as released new BIOS update.

And i launched sfc, will keep you informed.

Did you try to choose an Aero theme yet by clicking on one in personalize? That may do the trick.

ok, my BIOS is really up to date, (1701, my motherboard is Asus-M2N-E).

maybe my card is not compatible ?

I tried this procedure: NVIDIA Forums > win7 driver 185.85 dont work

And it's not working...

As i said my motherboard is Asus M2N-E, and i did not find anything wrong in the BIOS configuration...

I don't know what happends..

Possibly someone with PCI-e graphics could step in. Perhaps they could suggest a bios setting or something. Otherwise ya, I really don't know why Aero troubleshooter is complaining no dwm when it is there running.
