Trying to install WinXP on a second partition

Hello everyone
I'm new to Windows (I was a Mac user, then switched to Linux, now to Win7) and I have partitioned my HD with GPARTED (one for 7, one for XP, see my partition table in the attachments).
Now, Win7 is installed allright but when i try to install XP, it just will not recognise any of those partitions. why is that?
Any idea??

what "will not recognise the partitions" win 7 or XP?

it was XP
however I found the answer

XP doesnt recognise SATA by default, so I had to rebuild a cd containing the sata drivers (I also added the wifi drivers)

then XP could recognise my HD!

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Your going to have trouble with the MBR (Master Boot Record).

When possible you should install from older to newer OS, XP first then Win7.

Have a look at this Seven Forums tutorial Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP, it will explain how the get both XP and Win7 to show up on the Boot menu.
