Media Player Library Bug

Hi there, me again...
I have an ultimately stupid bug and I don't even know how to explain it... Perhaps you won't get it even if I post a video, but I'll try to explain. I ripped a CD yesterday and when I added the folder to my music it wasn't recognized by WMP. So I went for manual. Put My Music on the right side of the screen and WMP on the left and I dragged my music folder and dropped it into my library. To my surprise it still didn't appear, but something even weirder happened: All the songs were out of the folder when I looked back into my music and here's the catch: You think that WMP just made a copy of your files in a different destination, but no, the files act as somekind of shortcut. Here's the second catch: If I erase the files out of the folder (the ones that are supposed to be copies) the ones in the folder are gone too (and vice versa). So now what? I tried another album yesterday and this time it was recognized and put in my library automatically, but the same "double file bug" happened. Please help this is the most confusing thing I've ever seen. Note: This happens with any files in a folder, not necessarily from one album. Note 2: I haven't tried changing any settings or resetting to default, so I'm open to any suggestion.

I unfortunately don't have an answer for you, but would like to chime in and say that WMP 12 definitely has some problems. I'm afraid to use it now that I have cleared the library. My problem is not the same as yours, but has to do with WMP 12 adding files to it's library. If you use the Help and Support function in Windows 7 and search "Windows Media Player library problems" you find a library troubleshooting tool. It tells me the WMP 12 library is corrupt and clears it. No other information than that.

It could be a file ownership issue, I know I didnt take ownership of a folder and when I ripped a cd, I could not find the music, i copied into another directory and it found it there if I opened it manually. It could be that.

Nevermind, I erased my library and imported it again and it seemed to work. Thanks to both of you ;)
