Hi guys,
I had a little trouble getting the driver files out of the Vista x64 installer (M-Audio don't make it easy!) so thought I'd post them up here for anyone to use.
I am running Windows 7 x64 and my Audiophile 2496 works perfectly with this driver, which is the new Vista x64 SP1 driver just out of beta (01/27/2009 5.10.00.5069v3).

This should work for the following cards:

M-Audio Delta 1010
M-Audio Delta DiO
M-Audio Delta 66
M-Audio Delta 44
M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496
M-Audio Delta TDIF
M-Audio Delta R-BUS
M-Audio Delta 410
M-Audio Delta 1010LT
M-Audio Delta AP 192

If you know what you're doing just download, unzip and install via Device Manager.

If you're not so sure, here's what to do:

Download my zip file (attached) and unzip it somewhere where you'll be able to find it easily.

Open Device Manager (click Start and type Device Manager in the search box) and locate the entry for your card - probably under Other devices.

Right click on it and:
  • Click Update Driver Software
  • Click Browse my computer for driver software
  • Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
  • Scroll down to Sound, video & game controllers
  • Click Have Disk
  • Browse to the folder where you unzipped the driver files
  • Select MAudioDeltaII.inf
  • Hit Next
  • Your drivers should now install & the M-Audio Control Panel icon appear in the system tray
In case you have on-board sound or whatever you may have to set the card as default sound device. You can do this by going to Control Panel, then choose All Control Panel Items, then choose Sound.
Now find your M-Audio card in the list, select it and click Set Default.
You can right-click on it and select Test to make sure it's working.

You should now have a working M-Audio Delta family sound card

Cheers, Stuee ;)

Hi,

I am currently struggling to install my delta 66 on a 32 bits system.

After some searches i was able to obtain 2 set of files, according to the following methods :

1 - extract the .exe with 7zip
=> from there I get those 6 files :

  • .data
  • .rdata
  • .rsrc
  • .text
  • [data-1]
  • CERTIFICATE
These are the complete names of the file, and I can not do anything with them...

2- Extract the .exe with Universal Extractor
=> i obtained the following other files :

  • setup.exe
  • _setup.dll
  • ISSetup.dll
  • data1.cab
  • data2.cab
  • data1.hdr
  • setup.inx
  • setup.isn
  • setup.ini
  • layout.bin
This looks closer to proper install files than, but i still can't get a .inf, and I can not edit or open any of these files.
The .cab files are supposed to be empty, but theirs size is 500Ko and 2 Mo...

I don't know where to go from here, to obtain the required files, as the ones sent by Stuee
M-Audio definitely don't make it easy!

Any idea on what to do, or where to go with that ?

Thank you.

I installed the 32 bit Vista drivers for my 2496 fine.
It is an exe file, I ran it as admin (in Vista comatability mode), rebooted and was good to go.
Try it that way 1st and if it doesnt work then...
Right click on the extracted setup.exe, run in Vista Compatability mode, then right click again to run as admin...

Hope this helps

Hi People! Sorry, I badly speak English...
My problem is that after installing the drivers for the Delta 44 sound card, your computer is turned off. Otherwise, everything works fine. Have any ideas anyone?

Thanks greatly. I have a rule about running driver packages through winRAR and doing the exact same thing (especially graphics drivers), but I've never been able to extract M-Audio packages like that. Would you mind telling everyone how you did it? Hex edited the header or something?

Some M-Audio drivers were extractable with winrar, but as of lately(last 6 months) they are not for my M-audio 192.

The most current Win 7 beta drivers work great with my Delta 44 and 24/96.

I was a little reluctant to upgrade to 7 at first. Not only because I was worried about compatibility with drivers, but also that Sonar may not work. Little did I realize that Sonar had a set up for 64 bit when i put the disc in! I am very happy to say that all of my audio related stuff works as well as my games.

Freezing on shut down

I came across this thread while researching the build of my new pc. I followed the instructions and everything went fine until I tried to shut down the pc, as it froze for several minutes. I found the solution below which worked perfectly.

M-Audio audiophile Delta 249 conflict Joepsz , a poster to Microsoft’s TechNet forums, has discovered a fix that involves stopping the “Audiosrv” and “AudioEndpointBuilder” processes associated with the M-Audio audiophile Delta 249, which exhibits a conflict with Windows 7. The fix is as follows:
Create a .bat file (create txt file and change extention to .bat)
Right Click on file > “edit” and enter following info:
net stop “Audiosrv”
net stop “AudioEndpointBuilder”
Save file as “Audio stop”(or whatever you want) to your main drive ie: C:\Audio stop
Open “run” from start menu and enter “gpedit.msc” (without quotes) and hit “OK”
Now navigate from right pain of window “User Configuration” > “Windows Settings” > “scripts (Logon/Logoff)” > “Logoff”
From window that opens from clicking “Logoff” Click “Add” then browse to where you saved “Audio Stop.bat” earlier and double click on it.
Hit “Apply” and close.

Pritomnik, a fix is posted for W7 not shutting down after installing delta drivers at M-audio Forums. It will work with all M-audio cards and all W7 builds you can find it here:
Windows 7 Build 7048 Shutdown/Restart FIX - The Official M-Audio User Forums

Hi Billdo, I know this is an old thread but searching for a solution to a problem has let me here.
I installed this delta dio driver which works perfectly for my m-audio card, but i cant seem to get win 7 to shut down on its own. just hangs on "shutting down" and i have to kill with the power button.
Remove the driver and shuts down fine. So i have noticed you put a link here to help out Pritomnik with the same issue, bit the link no longer works. And after many searches in the m-audio forums i cant seem to find the anything of help. Can you please help or tell me how to over come this problem.

Thanks
Jordy

Jordy, I ran into the same problem and ended here too, reviving this old thread. I was having the Windows 7 shut down issues until I installed the latest VISTA x64 drivers from the m-audio page. The driver linked at the beginning of this thread interrupts shutdowns, at least it did for me.

That's good to know. I have a 2496, although I'm not using it currently. I'm using a UR-22 external interface on my Windows 7 music rig. but it's nice to know that those old, but excellent, cards can work on Windows 10. You never know, I might find a use for it someday.

Michael,

I have two of the Delta 1010LT interfaces and under WinXP SP3 you could use BOTH cards together for 16 IN ports. They made a "special" Win7 driver to do the same but it never worked properly. After 1 minute or so of recording the cards got out of sync. I needed 10 IN ports to record drums so I stayed on Win XP until last year when I went to Win 7 64 and made do with 8 IN ports. I decided to re-cable my studio and jump to Win10 64 so I am re-building my DAW. The MIDI port of the 1010LT is very solid - and I had a free PCI slot I I kept it.

I bought a MOTU 192HD audio interface with 12 IN/OUT Ports and a MOTU 24I audio interface with 24 IN ports - both use the MOTU 424 PCI card via Audiowire (Firewire) so I now have 44 IN ports. I have a Presonus Faderport16 for 16 OUTS via USB. The Presonus Faderport forced me to jump to Win10.

Cabling up all those IN ports to the microphone pre-amps is a HUGE job!
