Got a small problem with my recycle bin... when i empty it the icon does not automatically update to the empty version - i have to manually refresh the desktop!
anyone know what this is all about?

I have the same problem but it is only with custom icons for the recycle bin that this happens, so I assume that is what you have too.

this worked perfectly thanks! althought i had to do it manually (the registry fix just reveresed the problem! i.e it did refresh when i put something in the bin!)
i have the original icons but i did use custom ones at one point and changed them back to the original ones so i'm guessing that this is when it started!

You're welcome. I think if you use any custom icons it screws it up for the original recycle bin in some cases too.
