...hello all, is it possible to update Windows 7 32bit to 64bit without the clean installation? if so;

- how to do it?
- how reliable it is?

...reason is because I already have a lot of applications installed and configured in my machine and it will be time consuming to re-do the process from scratch. Thanks.

...then clean install it is...i wish i have installed the 64bit instead of the 32bit, but my reason was it's easier to find 32bit drivers and compatible application than those of 64bits...didn't thought that 64bit is also backward compatible with 32bit apps/drivers.

Its a one shot PITA that will make your system more efficient and stabile. I do it abt every 60 days. But you can make it so its the last time you have to do it. If right after you have set it up you do an image of the partition then the only thing you need to do to get back to vanilla is to restore the image.

I wouldnt know about installing 32 bit drivers on a 64 bit OS, I would still find 64 bit drivers. Even if you have to go with Vista drivers until drivers for win7 are available. Most drivers for 64 bit Vista will work for win7.
