Hello all,
I just built a new Win 7 system and my monitor goes black right after I get to the starting windows screen, and says, "monitor going to sleep." When my speakers are on, I hear the sound for windows booting all the way, my monitor just always goes dark before I get there
I can see everything on screen just fine up to this point, it just can't seem to make it all the way.
I swapped out my SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 4870 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E and replaced it with my old XFX Alpha Dog Edition 8800GT and no problems it boots right up, perfectly stable.
The SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X HD 4870 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E was working the other day on my XP build with an older Gigabyte mobo. Nothing I have tried is working.
I have the most current bios from my new MOBO utility, I have tried clean installs on new hard drives, (formatted, new partitions) etc.
PLEASE someone help this is very frustrating!
