W7 Ultimate x64 random BSOD's

Hello all,

In the last few days I have been getting crashes seemingly at random. So far I have had a few while playing games, and some while just on the internet. I have attempted to determine the cause myself from the dumps, but I have been unable to. Maybe someone who is a little better at it can tell me what is wrong. I think that it may be HDD related, but I did not see anything in the dumps to say that for sure. The only common thing I saw in the dumps was 2 of them pointed towards svchost.exe, and I do have an svchost that is using more memory than the others, but I have been unable to find a problem with it.

I have attached all the minidumps that I have gotten recently, hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction.

I'm downloading the updated audio driver from gigabyte, it was the only one that was an update for me. In the meantime, I have had another bsod, don't know if it will help or not.

Hey. Update your wifi adapter driver if possible.

In addition, these drivers could be Googled and checked to see if there are updates for them:

netr7364 netr7364.sys Sun Sep 23 23:08:50 2007
AODDriver AODDriver.sys Mon Oct 13 00:38:55 2008
GVTDrv64 GVTDrv64.sys Tue Sep 05 03:10:02 2006
secdrv secdrv.SYS Wed Sep 13 09:18:38 2006
ctgame ctgame.sys Tue Apr 06 20:42:49 2004
pavboot64 pavboot64.sys Thu Jun 19 11:23:50 2008
jraid jraid.sys Mon Nov 03 21:20:09 2008

After doing the best possible with those, if there is still another bsod, upload the dump file(s) for that.

Run Memtest overnight to test the RAM modules.

Ok, I updated my wifi adapter drivers, installed all the mobo updates from gigabyte, and updated what I could from that list of drivers. I had another crash while I was playing Fallen Earth, I was alt-tabbed out, listening to music with Winamp and browsing the web and I had another bsod. This was another ntkrnl error, pointing me towards winamp. I uninstalled winamp and reinstalled it, unfortunately it was the same version because there is not a newer one.

In addition to running Memtest overnight, you could also scan with Malwarebytes on full system scan after updating it to latest definitions.

Had 2 more crashes overnight, and ran memtest this morning when I woke up.

Memtest froze at 24% through the first pass. I upped the ram voltage to 2.2 from 1.8 and completed 3 passes of memtest with no errors.

Have not had a crash since then, but I will wait and see.

I'm uploading the 2 crashes from this morning, maybe they'll tell somebody something.

So many PCs fixed with proper RAM settings. I think things will be well. Enjoy.

Well, everything was good for about a day, but just had another BSOD. Dump pointed to firefox.exe from win32k.sys. The only thing that I changed today was to install ventrilo, so I guess that could have been it.

Hi Griffon

While we are both TG and myself willing to debug dmps forever it is obvious that something is still amiss. If you have done all the hardware things and are still getting crashes a some point you have to start thinking software. Did you do a clean install?

Is there something odd about this system? a raid, OC, a card reader, many external USB devices, anything. this many dumps with this many different causes can really be one or two things. We are missing something

Yes, I did do a fresh install last night. Doing a fresh install has actually appeared to only make things worse, since I have gotten twice as many crashes after.

There's nothing unusual that I can think of, only usb devices I have are keyboard/mouse, and my wireless card. I'm not OC, and I don't have any other hardware besides the basic things.

Then I'd look at all bios settings and even update it if possible.

After updating, make sure the Vdimm and timings are correct for your specific RAM modules.

Use the spd tab of CPU-Z to find out which, then visit the maker's site for the correct values.

My ram was already at the recommended settings, with the exception of the voltage, which I had already adjusted. I dropped the voltage down to 2.1 from 2.2, and I haven't crashed in about an hour, so I guess I will wait and see.

If it is an actual hardware problem I think that it is the RAM. I am unable to boot with them in the 1&3 slot, and apparently many other people are having trouble with this ram/mobo combo.
