I know this is obvious but its because the game is changing resolution by the sounds of it OR it could be the Hz of your monitor and the game maybe is putting upto something like 75-80Hz when you need 60Hz?

Can you tell us what games your playing and the in game settings for these regarding resolution and Fequency?

ok then

What monitor do you use? Can you give as full model number as possible so i can look up some specs for it please?

Also just update your graphics drivers, even if you already have done so, just so i can rule anything like that out. Out of interest, you havent like got any custom settings for your graphics card in game or anything through your graphics card control panel at all that might be causing issues?

So you know, i dont know whats wrong yet, but im trying to get information to help.

Scott :)

strange thought but could it be your screen is turning off after say 10-15minutes because it thinks the computer is idle?

my screen if left (and before it actually turns off) displays the "no signal" screen for about a minute then turns off.

Maybe windows doesnt recognise when your in games or something and so you think its the game but its actually windows?

All that might fit unless your now going to say that it happens on EXACT levels and EXACT times all the time?

here's and example..
i used to play assassins creed, and at one assassination i always happened..
then after a while it just happened the second i started the game..
same with borderlands.. if i loaded up a a certain area it always happened.. now it happens everywhere..

When its displaying this error, does it look like the screen is changing resolution or just switching off?

Also does it ever at all happen when not playing games? Reason I ask is that if its ONLY games that do this and no other full screen apps (even things like movies) then we can start to pin things down like DirectX problems and stuff like that, not to say that DirectX is the problem though, its just an example.

Thinking back to my overclocking days, could your graphics card be overheating at all? and so switches itself off everynow and then. Saying that though, that wouldnt explain the points where you know it happens all the time...

Can you try and run whatever game it happens most on, on high and low graphics to say if it changes at all? Maybe theres a "graphical event" your graphics card doesnt like or something?

Yes these ideas are getting thin but im just trying to think until someone comes and solves it. :D

i tried everything the only way to stop the problem is to play on a lower resolution.. though that makes things look not very nice on my big screen
