I'm gonna break the rules and double-post..!!

Please forgive me, but I'm over the moon..!!

Both of Xaa's two brilliant seigelets, Mageworld and Lands of Hyperborea have installed OK in W7 64-bit..
the two of them are running in 1600x900 resolution, and they look brilliant..!!

- this is great news, folks - for anyone who has yet to experience these games,
- Dungeon Seige and Legends of Aranna should be checked out as soon as possible..


- I recommend you download and install Legend Of Utrae, this mod uses the entire multiplayer map..
- it's a truly excellent piece of programming, made by genuine fans of DS..!!

this screenie is from Lands Of Hyperborea - a very unusual DS sieglet, in that the enemy respawn over time..
the party here consists the main player CHR, T'Vril T'Chang - an elfish NPC and a summoned skeleton..
- also included is an undead mule, as well as a normal one..!!

- it's not an easy game to play, but very absorbing - with racial conflicts included, so that you have
- to travel with caution and ensure that you pick the right party-member to interact with other NPC's..

- if you haven't seen it, dust off your old copy of DS1 and download the sieglet..

It runs just fine here, along with the Broken World expansion. Be sure to mod the shortcut to force higher resolution.

Right click the shortcut and in the target window, after the quotes, add width and height values as below:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\2K Games\Dungeon Siege 2 Broken World\DungeonSiege2.exe" width=1920 height=1080

does anyone have problems with dungeon seige graphics i installed it and when i get into it you cant really do anythings but watch it lag andd screw up. i have windows 7 32bit with a great graphics card.

I assume you're talking about Dungeon Siege 2

there is an add-on that will give you full control of
all the graphics settings, it's called Elys' Mod check this out
- it has all the info you need:

can you confirm which game you are referring to - DS1/Legends Of Aranna or DS2..??

the solution for DS1/Legends Of Aranna is somewhat convoluted, but given that it
is such a wonderful game - it's well worth the effort..!!

just dungeon seige the first one

..as you can see from the screenshots above, it is not only possible to run it via Windows 7,
it is also possible to run it in higher resolutions than those supplied with the original game
- mine's running beautifully at 1600x900, the graphics detail is superb..

check out the link in the first post - it contains a detailed description of how to get DS1 running

NB: if you have the original DS1 - issued prior to the DS1/Legends Of Aranna duo-pack
- then you will need to get the Dungeon Siege Update v1.11.1462 patch from the official Dungeon Siege Site, here:
Dungeon Siege
..the double-pack, issued later, already contains the update..

- then follow the installation instructions from the linked Siegecore site above..

BTW - Siegecore is good for mods and add-ons, as well..

DS is awesome

I remember in DS2 there was this weird gun which shoots chickens .. was so funny to see

there are numerous free mods for Dungeon Siege 1 - a lot of dedicated sites have gone over the years, alas.. - but there are still a few die-hard fans out there, if you Google you'll find them
- the site's themselves have links to other places where more information is available
- this requires some research, but it is well worth doing, as you will encounter some of the most dedicated DS1 fans out there, in the process..

- in particular seek out Legends Of Utrae, Mageworld and Lands Of Hyperborea - these are complete-game mods, in that they completely rework the original game into a new experience altogether

- Xaa's mods are particularly good - he's an author (real name Jim Farris) so the accent is on the tale, but he's also a great game maker, so expect some intricate improvements and changes to the original game..

- even today, ten years after it's original inception, DS1/Legends Of Aranna is a delight to play, it's full of atmosphere, has wonderful music and a great storyline..
