Hello,

I just did a clean install to Windows 7 64 bit from an existing version of Vista. Then after my updates, I experienced the dreaded BSOD. This is my 3rd time doing a clean install and each time I've had BSOD with different codes. Is it something to do with the update or my system? My hard drives are in a 0-RAID configuration right now and my system specs are as follows:

Gigabyte pa-p35-ds3r
QQ6600 2.4GHz
EVGA Ge-Force 8800GTS
Mushkin 2GB HP2-8500
2x Seagate 500GB 7200
Corsair 620HX

I have also attached the minidump file.
Any help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Hi.

Make sure your bios is set as follows:

DRAM CAS# Latency: 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
DRAM RAS# Precharge: 5
DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge: 15
DRAM TRFC: 55
DRAM TWR: 6
DRAM TWTR: 11
DRAM TRRD: 4
DRAM TRTP: 6

Dram Voltage: 2.0-2.2v

And then update these drivers if possible:

Rt64win7 Rt64win7.sys Thu Feb 26 04:04:13 2009
spsys spsys.sys Mon May 11 13:20:58 2009
spldr spldr.sys Mon May 11 12:56:27 2009
amdxata amdxata.sys Tue May 19 13:56:59 2009

Make sure the RAID controller driver is updated to latest too.

Hi torrentg,

Thank you very much for replying so quickly. I took a look at the RAM settings on my BIOS and wasn't too sure which parameters matched the above acronyms following the 5-5-5-15. Can you please clarify the following terms and tell me which settings I should input:

ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)
Rank Write to READ Delay
Write to Precharge Delay
Refresh to ACT Delay
Read to Precharge Delay
Static tRead Value
Static tRead Phase Adjust

There were only recommended 5 values listed and there are 6 existing values on my current BIOS settings.
Also, how do I know what my current Dram voltage setting is?

Thanks again!

You can Google the terms and try to match your bios to what I posted. I don't know offhand.

DRAM Voltage = Vdimm

You're welcome.

Thank you for your time.

There are some new drivers available for your board here dated 11/16/09 that may be worth trying. GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - Driver - GA-P35-DS3R (rev. 1.0)

To get to the memory voltage adjustments in your bios, hit ctrl+f1 at the main screen, then go to the MIT section and scroll towards the vbottom and set the voltage control to manual, then go to ddr2 overvoltage control and increase the volts there from 1.8volts upwards in 0.1v increments until you get where you want to be.

Your bios:
GBTGAp35ds3r_BIOS1.jpg

GBTGAp35ds3r_BIOS2.jpg

The picture repeats itself but just change the timings from Auto to Manual and set to 5 5 5 15 starting from CAS Latency Time. You should also be using 1000MHz for memory speed if you are running your CPU at spec 1333.

Thank you both for your help. I have successfully adjusted my RAM settings to:

DRAM CAS# Latency: 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
DRAM RAS# Precharge: 5
DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge: 15
DRAM TRFC: 55 (Refresh to ACT Delay)
DRAM TWR: 6 (Write to Precharge Delay)
DRAM TWTR: 11 (Rank Write to READ Delay)
DRAM TRRD: 4 (ACT to ACT Delay)
DRAM TRTP: 6 (Read to Precharge Delay)
Static tRead Value: Auto
Static tRead Phase Adjust: Auto

Dram Voltage: 2.0 (2.0-2.2v)

Everything seems to be fine at the moment! Hopefully, this adjustment will remedy my computer issues for the next little while!
