my mic is not being recognized

hey there...

just upgraded to w7, but everything is perfect but my mic...
i can't use it, it is not being recognized ... i use a hp input mic ...

can any one help me ?

Set it as the default communication device by right clicking on it and choosing - in recording devices section.

yeah, but i cant recognize it ... it appears and say that it is not plugged in .. how can i plug in something that is input
