My wireless internet disconnects from the router after a couple of days. This has happened like 3 or 4 times. I just noticed this.

Anyone know why this might be happening?

P.S. If you guys need more info I took alot of screen shots of some other info. I'm not sure how safe some of it is to share on the net though.

Hi. Set the lease time to the greatest amount possible in the router's config page - DHCP tab or settings. Typically http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1

Click them and see.

Alternatively, disable DHCP and set static ip addresses for each machine's lan adapter connected to the network. Network and Sharing Center. It's easy to do. Google it.

Hi there. Thanks for the help. I changed the 'Client Lease Time' to 1 year but the 'Lease Expires' still hasn't changed.

I think I've only got a couple of hours of connection left so any help is appreciated.

Hi Random, welcome to the Seven Forums.

You have nothing to worry. To connect to a network, you need an IP-address. When a NIC (Network Interface Controller) like your LAN card or WiFi gets an IP-address from DHCP controller (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), the server gives your NIC an IP-address and a lease i.e. how long this connection is OK.

When the time runs out, the lease is automatically renewed.

Your only problem is to remember to pay your provider bills, that is the only "lease" you have to worry about. ;)

If you want to force the IP lease renewal - open a command prompt and enter ipconfig /renew
